UPSC CIVIL SERVICES PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION 2021 POSTPONED TO 10 OCTOBER DUE TO COVID-19

UPSC Prelims 2021 postponed

Due to rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has decided to postpone the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2021 which was scheduled to be held on 27th June.

The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2021 will now be held on 10th October, the UPSC announced on Thursday.

The notice issued by UPSC read: "Due to the prevailing conditions caused by the Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), the Union Public Service Commission has deferred the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2021 which was scheduled to be held on 27th June, 2021. Now, this examination will be held on 10th October, 2021."

UPSC postponement notification

It may be mentioned that the UPSC conducts civil services examination in three stages annually- prelims, mains and interview to select officers of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) among others.

The UPSC Civil Services Examination 2021 will be held for 712 vacancies.
