The job of Junior Assistant is basically a clerical job where he/she has to manage and look after the day to day affairs of the office and also has to deal with people over the various matters.

To be a Junior Assistant, one doesn’t need to be highly qualified. A simple Graduate in any discipline with knowledge of computer operation can apply for this role.

SALARY DETAILS OF JUNIOR ASSISTANT OF VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF GOVT. OF ASSAM

Name of the post: Junior Assistant

Qualification:

• Educational qualification: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized Institute/ University
• Computer knowledge: Minimum 6 months diploma/certificate in computer application from a Govt. recognized Institute
• Experience: Not mandatory. Freshers can apply. However, having experience certificate definitely will have an edge over the other non experienced candidates.

Age: 18 to 40 years. The upper age limit for OBC/MOBC is 43 years, SC/ST is 45 years, Ex-Serviceman is 42 years and person with disabilities up to 50 years as per existing Govt. norms (**subject to change)

Pay scale: Rs.14,000/- to 60,500/- plus Grade pay Rs. 6,200/- with other allowances as admissible under Rules.

The calculation of initial or first payment of the Junior Assistant is given below:

ALLOWANCES

1. Pay (In the Pay Band): Rs. 14,000/-

2. Grade Pay (G.P.): Rs. 6,200/-

3. Basic Pay (B.P.) (1+2): Rs. 20,200/-

4. Dearness Allowance (D.A.) (*@42% of BP): Rs. 8,484/-

(*Current D.A. rate offered by Government as on 11.05.2023; subject to change from time to time)

5. House Rent (H.R.) (**@8% of B.P.): Rs. 1,616/-

(**Current HR rate offered by Government; subject to change with location and from time to time)

6. Medical Allowance (M.A.): Rs. 600/-

7. Gross Amount or Gross salary (3+4+5+6): Rs. 30,900/-

DEDUCTIONS

8. National Pension Scheme, NPS (B.P.+D.A. X 10%): Rs. 2,868/-

9. Group Insurance Scheme (GIS): Rs. 200/-

10. Professional Tax (P.Tax): Rs. 208/-

11. Total deduction (8+9+10): Rs. 3,276/-

12. Net salary to be credited in the Account of the employee per month (7-11): Rs. 27,624/-

The Junior Assistant is also eligible to receive an annual salary increment @ 3% in the month of July every year with other allowances as admissible in the respective departments from time to time.
