Water Resources Department, Assam has released an advertisement regarding recruitment of 100 nos. of Assistant Engineers (Civil) and Junior Engineers (Civil) under regulation 3(f) of the Assam Public Service Commission (Limitations of functions) regulation, 1951. WATER RESOURCES ASSAM ASSISTANT ENGINEER (CIVIL) & JUNIOR ENGINEER (CIVIL) RECRUITMENT 2021

1. Name of the post: Assistant Engineer (Civil)

Name of the department: Water Resources Department

Total vacant post: 63 (UR-45, SC-4, STP-7, STH-2, EWS-5)

Pay scale: Rs. 30,000/- to 1,10,00/- +GP Rs. 12,700/- and other allowances as admissible from time to time

Qualification: 

1. B.E. or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering obtained from any institute approved by the AICTE and recognized by the Govt.

2. Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering must be a  full time regular course.

3. Apart from English, the candidate must know at least one official language of Assam i.e. Assamese/Bodo/Bengali except candidates belonging to Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and Dima Hasao Autonomous Council.

Age limit: 21 to 38 years as on 01/01/2021. The upper age limit is relaxable as given below:

1. By 5 years for SC/ST candidates i.e., upto 43 years

2. By 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates i.e., upto 41 years

3. By 10 years for PWD irrespective of SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/OC candidates

2. Name of the post: Junior Engineer (Civil)

Name of the department: Water Resources Department

Total vacant post: 37

Pay scale: Rs. 14,000/- to 60,500/- +GP Rs. 8,700/- and other allowances as admissible from time to time

Educational qualification: 

1. 3 (three) years Diploma Course in Civil Engineering from an institution recognized by AICTE.

2. Diploma in Civil Engineering must be a full-time regular course.

3. Apart from English, the candidate must know at least one official language of Assam i.e. Assamese/Bodo/Bengali except candidates belonging to Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and Dima Hasao Autonomous Council.

Age limit: 18 to 38 years as on 01/01/2021. The upper age limit is relaxable as given below:

1. By 5 years for SC/ST candidates i.e., upto 43 years

2. By 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates i.e., upto 41 years

Other eligibility criteria:

1. Candidates must be permanent residents of Assam. For proof of permanent residence, the candidates or his/her parents must be a voter of Assam. The Voter ID card of the candidate or parents will be treated as proof of permanent residence.

Selection process: Candidates will be shortlisted and selected on the basis of merit as per academic performance from HSLC to Degree for the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil) and from HSLC to Diploma for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil)

• Assistant Engineer

1. HSLC- 10% weightage

2. HSSLC- 20% weightage

3. Degree in Civil Engineering- 70% weightage

• Junior Engineer

1. HSLC- 20% weightage

2. Diploma- 80% weightage
