Jal Jeevan Mission, Assam recruitment for Assistant Chemist posts

The Mission Directorate, Jal Jeevan Mission, JJM, Assam  invites online applications from eligible and interested candidates to apply for 11 (eleven) nos. of  Assistant Chemist post in various districts of the State of Assam. The selection will be done through partnership with Tezpur University. 

The details are given below:

Name of the post: Assistant Chemist

Total post: 11 in districts of Kamrup, Bongaigaon, Dima Hasao, Goalpara, Kokrajhar, Dhemaji, Sonitpur and N.C Hills.

Qualification: Bachelor of Science degree with Chemistry as Major/Honours from a recognized university or institute.

Age: Minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 40 years as on 30- 09-2020. 

The upper age limit is relaxable as follows: 

A) 5 years for SC/ST candidates B) 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates 

Computers skills: Candidates must be well versed with computer operation and application. 

Domicile: Candidate should be a domicile of Assam

Job profile:

• To conduct testing of water samples in laboratory
• To keep records of the test findings
• Documentation of test procedures and results and report the same to SRL/DLL for analysis
• To check the test results before entry into IMIS
• To maintain stock register of chemicals & reagents
• Any other assignment as and when directed by the controlling officer

 Remuneration: Rs. 21,500/- per month

Selection methodology: The weightage of marks for shortlisting of candidates will be as: 

Class X: 10% 

HS: 20% 

Graduation: 60% 

10% weightage to candidates who have experience of more than one year in working in laboratories for drinking water testing and water purification. Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for PI through online mode.
