GAUHATI UNIVERSITY, DIBRUGARH UNIVERSITY, ASSAM UNIVERSITY AND TEZPUR UNIVERSITY TO CONDUCT RECRUITMENT EXAMINATIONS FOR VARIOUS GOVT. DEPARTMENTS

Assam Govt. recruitments to be conducted by State varsities

In a major decision to to do away with the anomalies and various scams in conducting the recruitment related examinations of the State, the Assam Govt. on 7 October, 2020 decided  to assign the duty of conducting the recruitment related examinations of the various administrative departments of Assam. This decision was taken on 6 October at a meeting when the Chief Secretary met the Vice Chancellors of different universities.

In the meeting, four different varsities of the Assam, both State and Central Universities were chosen to conduct the recruitment related procedures to various State Govt. departments. The name of the Universities selected for the task are Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, Assam University and Tezpur University.

As per the decision taken at the meeting, the above mentioned varsities shall conduct examinations for recruitments for the specific departments which are given below:

Gauhati University will conduct the recruitment examinations for the following departments:

• Industries & Commerce
• Skill Development
• Transport
• Excise
• Forest and Environment

Dibrugarh University will conduct the recruitment examinations for the following departments:

• Police
• Home Guards
• Prisons
• P&RD
• Labour

Assam University will hold the recruitment examinations for the following departments:

• Social Welfare
• Soil Conservation departments, while 

Tezpur University shall conduct recruitment related examination of the following department:

• Irrigation department. 

The task of drafting of question paper to dispatching of them for the examination, evaluation and declaration of the results will also be handled by the concerned university.
