Aaranyak Recruitment 2019: Program Officer and Project Officer-Ecotourism


Tiger Research and Conservation Division of Aaranyak will recruit two persons for the following positions:


1. Name of the Post: Manager Program/Program Officer

Responsibilities: 
  • The principal responsibility will be to smoothly manage and coordinate programmatic activities (multidisciplinary-Conservation Livelihoods, Outreach, Stakeholders coordination, Communication, etc.) related to livelihoods and Natural Resource Management.
  • These include lining up project activities, maintain timely performances, reporting performances and maintaining related databases with support from other team members.
  • Communication with communities and stakeholders and preparation of activity report is a significant part of day to day activities for this position and hence, competence and experiences in that area is necessary.
  • Person having knowledge as well as 4-5 years of experiences in project operations will be preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge in standard computer programs is a must with knowledge on working online platform like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.
  • Women will be preferred for this position.


Location: To be based at Kohora, Kaziranga, Assam and duties would demand traveling independently to various parts of Assam, often to interior villages with very basic amenities.

Qualification: Must be interested to work for the benefit of communities and conservation of biodiversity and live with very basic amenities. Person needs to be at least Bachelor or Master with 4-5 years of experience.

Remuneration: Commensurate to knowledge, skills and experiences in core area of work.

2. Name of the Post: Project Officer- Ecotourism

Responsibilities:
  • The principal responsibility will be to smoothly manage and coordinate ecotourism events for group of students/individuals visiting northeast India for eco-cultural excursion.
  • The events include coordination and collaboration with multiple institutions and thus skill in communication and teamwork is very essential. Competence and experiences in communication is necessary.
  • The excursions are organized in the villages in partnership with indigenous tribes having basic homestays and thus need experiences working with such communities.
  • Activities include extensive academic exercises by the visitors along with village walk, nature walks and hiking on trails and thus person having experiences of managing nature camps and similar tourism activities will get preference.
  • Experiences on event report preparation with photo and video documentation required.
  • Person having knowledge as well as min 3-4 years of experience in the core area of will be preferred.
  • Good working knowledge in standard computer programs is a must with working knowledge on online platform like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.
  • Women will be preferred for this position.
