AHSEC HS First Year Examination, 2019 Notification for various categories

The Controller of Examinations, Assam Higher Secondary Education Council throgh a notification No. AHSEC/EXB/NOTIFICATION/2019/3309 dtd. 01-11-2018 has informed all the intending and eligible candidates who are desirous of appearing in the HS First Year Examination, 2019 under the following categories:

1. Under Certain Subject(s)
2. As Teacher/Defence Personnel/Female Private candidates for Arts Stream only.
3. MIL Subject not taught in the institution

The candidates of the above categories will have to appear in the examination under the new NCERT Syllabus introduced by the Council from the session 2010-2011 for the students in the +2 stage.


Eligibility Conditions:

1. Under Certain Subject (s): A successful candidate of the HS Examination who intends to appear in the HS First Year Examination, 2019 against certain subject(s) (maximum two subjects having no practical parts or one subject with practical part) the course of which he/she had not undergone during his/her Higher Secondary Programme is required to obtain permission from the Council. A candidate offering a subject with practical parts must have attended 30 (thirty) practical classes in one academic year in recognized Institution and a Certificate to that effect must be submitted along with the filled in prescribed Examination form. The application form should be sent through Head of the Institution recognized by the Council.

2. Teacher/Defence Personnel/Female Private candidates: Candidates who intend to appear in the HS First Year Examination, 2019 as Teacher/Defence Personnel/Female Private candidates are required to obtain permission from the Council. In case of a female private candidate, she is eligible to apply after a lapse of at least one academic year from the year of passing the HSLC Examination. In case of Teacher/Defence Personnel Private candidates, they are eligible to apply after a lapse of two academic years of passing the HSLC Examination provided they have completed 15 months of continuous service. In case of Teacher Private Candidates he/she should be a teacher in a recognized School.

3. MIL subject not taught in the Institution: A candidate who intends to appear in the HS First Year Examination, 2019 in MIL subject not taught in the Institution is required to obtain permission from the Council. The application form should be sent through Head of the Institution recognized by the Council.

Note: Candidates of these categories who had appeared with due permission from the Council in the HS First Year Examination, 2018, but failed, are also required to apply a fresh for appearing in 2019 Examination.

How to Apply: Willing and eligible candidates of the above categories are to apply in respective prescribed forms (specimen copies are available with the Principals of the Recognized Institutions) through the Principal of the Institutions through which they intend to appear on or before 26.11.2018 with a non-refundable fee of Rs.200/- (Rupees one hundred) only for Certain subject, Teacher/Defence/Female Private candidate category and Rs.100/- for obtaining MIL permission [subject which not taught in the Institution] through Bank Draft drawn in favour of the Secretary, Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, Bamunimaidam, Guwahati-21 (payable at any Branch of a Nationalized Bank located at Guwahati) or through Council’s Challan in Noonmati Branch of the Assam Co-operative Apex Bank Ltd., Guwahati
