Directorate of Forensic Science, Assam Recruitment of Jr. Scientific Officers and Senior Scientific Officers

Directorate of Forensic Science, Assam invites applications from eligible and intending candidates for filling up the posts of Jr. Scientific Officers and Senior Scientific Officers under Govt. of Assam on contractual basis.


The details of the posts are mentioned below:


1. Name of the posts: (a) Senior Scientific Officer & (b) Jr. Scientific Officer

• Total Vacancy: 02 (1 for each post)
• Division: Toxicology
• Qualification: B.Sc. with Chemistry as one of the subject (Minimum)
• Experience: 10 years as Scientific Officer or above for Senior Scientific Officer and 10 years as Senior Scientific Assistant or above
• Salary: Rs. 40,000/- & Rs. 30,000/- (Fixed) for Senior Scientific Officer & Jr. Scientific Officer respectively

2. Name of the post: Senior Scientific Officer

• Total Vacancy: 01
• Division: Questioned Documents
• Qualification: B.Sc. with Chemistry/ Physics as one of the subject (Minimum)
• Experience: 10 years as Scientific Officer or above
• Salary: Rs. 40,000/- (Fixed)

3. Name of the post: Senior Scientific Officer

• Total Vacancy: 01
• Division: Drugs & Narcotics
• Qualification: B.Sc. with Chemistry as one of the subject (Minimum)
• Experience: 10 years as Scientific Officer or above
• Salary: Rs. 40,000/- (Fixed)

4. Name of the post: Junior Scientific Officer

• Total Vacancy: 01
• Division: Physics
• Qualification: B.Sc. with Physics as one of the subject (Minimum)
• Experience: 10 years as Senior Scientific Assistant or above
• Salary: Rs.30,000/- (Fixed)

5. Name of the posts: (a) Senior Scientific Officer & (b) Junior Scientific Officer

• Total Vacancy: 02 (1 for each post)
• Division: Digital Forensic Unit
• Qualification: B.Sc. with Chemistry/ Physics/ Computer Science as one of the subject (Minimum)
• Experience: 10 years as Scientific Officer or above for Senior Scientific Officer and 10 years as Senior Scientific Assistant or above
• Salary: Rs. 40,000/- & Rs. 30,000/- (Fixed) for Senior Scientific Officer & Jr. Scientific Officer respectively

Tenure of Contract: All the above-mentioned posts are on contractual basis for 7 (seven) months

Age Limit: 67 years or less as on 01.01.2018

• Separate application should be submitted for separate post
• Self-attested certificates in respect of Educational Qualifications, working experience, etc should be submitted along with the application
• NOC from Head of Department should be submitted in case of working candidates
